The memories of carefree summers. Photo credit Sonny Spencer.

In grey mornings when it drizzled
The roses washed their faces,
I dashed to my fluffy white rabbits
To tie little red bows and bells.
Meadows topped with daisies,
And lambs played in streams,
I ran after butterflies
Blue, pinks, and greens,
But won that little one
With such so vibrant hues.
When evening covered the day
Fireflies illuminated grasslands,
I grabbed some in glass
And giggles at my prey.

Today the sun still rises and
Teal sky meets azure sea,
In horizon a septenary bow
Yet appears with all its glow.
Pure soft sand is marked,
With the blues of past waves
Forlorn I sit here
Wishing to swim back again.

yearning revised

Let me sparkle your dark chamber,
I bring you glitter of the stars,
Moon’s effulgence,
Sun’s brilliance…

Let me whistle your dull chamber,
I bring the nightingale’s song,
Symphonies through waterfalls,
Lakes’ lyrics, poems in winds…

Let me color your pale chamber
Bringing rainbow hues
Roses’ red colors, Blue hyacinths
Greens gladiolus…

Let me enter your dark chamber.

Summer swelters. Photo credit Sonny Spencer.

When the west wind whispers,
Winters become weaker,
Dewdrops desires,
Strings in pleasures.

Hailing high laughters,
Lusty in natures,
Lush green giggles,
Glistening with waters.

Lovely large lagoons,
Glowing oomph in fumes,
Chilly blazing breeze,
Offers silky soft feast.

History was etched in the bones of the city. Photo credit Sonny Spencer

I ask Life, ‘’Tell me Your Reality.’’
He asks, ‘’Come along with me’’;
We enter my childhood pathways
Where now deathly silence abode.
With aching heart I search
Our dancing footprints, but
Wiped away by the tides of time,
Those poems lost in season’s dirt
Our giggles parched in scorching sun,
Gusts whisper here silence dwells
Since long, what I want to discover;
I turn towards life in terror,
He says, ‘’This is My Reality.’’

Light up the night. Photo credit Sonny Spencer.

So here comes the night once again
for which he waits a month
lying on a moonlit pasture
fragrancing in magnolias, jasmine
staring stars speckled sky
a babbling brook beside
peeking full-moon from the clouds
twinkles she comes with
her star dust aura shimmers
cool rustling breeze enlightens when
fireflies fly with her footsteps which
glistening the brook as silk,
he quickly opens his fastened door
within she strides
her glimmering ambience
brightens his glooms
he tries again
locking her flicker
but with this first ray of sun
she fades away
mingling in the glittering surrounds
and he is ashen anon
waits for the next month’s
dazzling night
once again.

Till the dirges of his hope that melancholy burden bore – From The Raven by Edgar Allan Poe. Photo credit Sandra Spencer

Let me sparkle this somber chamber,
I bring glitters of stars,
Effulgence of moon,
Glimmers of firefly, brilliance of the sun,
Please show me the way.

Let me melodize this melancholic chamber,
I bring songs of nightingale,
Symphonies of waterfalls,
Lyrics of lakes, rhapsodies of winds,
Please give me the key.

Let me color this snowy chamber
I bring hues of rainbow
Scarlet of roses, emerald of gladiolus,
Amber of tulips, sapphire of hyacinths
Please open the door.

Let me incense this parched chamber
I bring fragrances of lavenders,
Scents of lilacs, aura of lilies,
Perfumes of jasmine,
Please hear my sighs.

Why still fast asleep in dreary chamber?
What if you are lying beneath?
I am here to meld in this soil,
Close with you in this dark vault,
Please listen to me.
